Meet Tobias - Tobias shares his life story to other kids, who gain valuable insight about avoiding drugs and unsafe sexual practices.
Tobias was 10 years old when he lost both his parents and began his life on the streets. After a run-in with the police, he was brought to one of Street Kids International’s partner organizations, where he chose to participate in our street health program.
Through the program, Tobias immediately identified with the characters in Karate Kids and Goldtooth, our animations about substance abuse. By relating to the characters, he was able to explain why he thinks kids spend time on the streets, make poor choices and use drugs and alcohol.
Tobias now shares his story about life on the streets with other street kids, who learn from his advice about avoiding drugs and unsafe sexual practices.
Tobias, now in his early 20s, has taken control of his life and mentors other youth. He has recently qualified to go to the University of Zambia.
